TyLoo have sealed passage to the IEM Sydney 2018 playoffs after defeating Cloud9 on two maps (16-10 on Inferno, 16-14 on Overpass).
The last series of the day kicked off on Inferno, TYLOO's map pick. The Chinese side got off to a dream start on the Terrorist side, winning nine of the first ten rounds of the game. That was when Cloud9 finally found some breathing room, but they still found themselves trailing their opponents by seven at the end of the half.
In the second half, Cloud9 responded to TYLOO's pistol round win with a successful force-buy, but they could not follow that up. The Asian team went on to hit 14 rounds, but then Cloud9 found a lifeline as they picked up four rounds in a row. However, TyLoo would go on to reach map-point with nothing but CZs, and then they lost a single round before closing out the map, 16-10.
Next up was Overpass, Cloud9's map pick, where TYLOO started off on the right foot as they secured their CT pistol thanks to a 1v1 clutch from Kevin "xccurate" Susanto. A successful third-round buy marked the beginning of a great run from Cloud9, who would take an 8-3 lead.
TYLOO picked up the pace and bagged the final four rounds of the half to bring the deficit to a minimum, and they followed that up with a flawless Terrorist pistol to restore parity at 8-8.
Cloud9 responded immediately, setting themselves up for an 11-9 lead, but TYLOO were quick to react. The Chinese side won five of the next six rounds to take a 14-12 lead and kept their cool despite losing two in a row. Even with their economy in shambles, TYLOO were able to hit match point on a very weak buy before wrapping things up to punch their ticket to the playoffs.
